The three most common boiler types in London are the combination, system, and conventional boilers. For this particular article, system and conventional boilers will be grouped together since both of them function the same way, with the only difference being that conventional types have cold water tanks.
System Boilers – If you’re living alone or with one companion, then a system boiler is a good choice. You can get water from multiple sources at the same time, and there’s plenty of stored hot water already, enough for two or even three people before you have to wait for it to reheat.
Combination Boilers – If you live with your family or more than one house mate, or simply take a lot of time in the shower, then a combination boiler would be a better option since you’d pretty much have unlimited hot water. The only possible downside to this is that using the water at once for different applications may reduce the pressure.
Aside from the purpose of your boiler, you also need to consider other things, such as: Do you need a condensing boiler? Does your boiler have to be energy efficient? Do you have enough space for a tank? How hard will it be to install or maintain any of these boilers?
Always remember to put convention ahead of style when picking the boiler for your home.
